We gave the Food Bank in Upton, WY 5 FULL boxes of food! People come to the food bank everyday, and this contribution should help tremendously! It feels good to know that I can help people in need.

The Food Bank in Upton, WY is in desperate need of food. Since school is out, I plan on donating most of all the unused food from this year.

When I hold the food drive next year, I plan to ask for specific items to meet the needs of our menu.

The WINNING class was the 1st graders! Raising over 180 food items, they won a goody bag full of yummy candy!

Our final food count was over 760 food items! Thank you all who participated. Grace and I send a big thank you to The Upton Chamber of Commerce for donating $100 for buying food and to Black Hills Power for donating $50, also for buying food. You are all making a difference in a child's life.

Talking to Elementary Kids

On Wednesday, October 23, Grace Rhoden and Liz Stephens went around and talked to the elementary kids. They talked about the "No Kid Hungry Food Drive" and what the program is for. They gave the kids the idea of how it's such a good thing to do and why they should do it. They did this by saying to them, "What if it was you who went to bed hungry?". It looked like many kids took this to heart. They also challenged them to eat all or almost all of their food at lunch and be grateful for what they have because others don't have everything they have.
